to the end

We came across these vultures making a meal on still very intact African buffalo. How the buffalo met its final demise is a mystery, and of no concern to the vultures. Death on the Serengeti isn't always a predator/prey take down. Sometimes animals get old and just wander off and die. Meanwhile, we passed this same spot the following day and only the thoroughly picked carcass remained. Nothing is for nothing in these grasslands.
