Ginko (吟行) is the haiku poet's walk — the practice of wandering through a place, observing, and letting a poem surface. Bashō built a life around it. Shiki called it sketching from life.

Mine happens twice: once with a camera, and again later, sifting through the photos until a seed of haiku appears.
